Heartland Gems @ South West

Top Durian Station

King of the tropical fruits

From a small makeshift stall at Jurong West, Top Durian Station has now a couple of branches island wide, and now even considerable online clout. But come down to where the action is, where you can see the famed durian chopping uncles with their feared durian knives, cutting open these thorny husky fruits as if they were eggshells.

Address: Blk 372 Bukit Batok Street 31, #01-350, Singapore 650372

Durian Craze

With access to their own farm plots and old trees in Malaysia, Top Durian Station is worth a visit anytime. Check out the grey husks from their supply of old trees, proof of authenticity! They source from their own durian plantations in Johore Bahru, Malaysia.

They carry the latest Butter King, Red Prawn & Black Gold, and of course the ever standard range of Mao Shan Wang, Gold Phoenix, XO and D13 range of durians. If you would like to choose your own durians, they can husk and package for you on the spot.

And honestly, unless you are there super early to ask the uncle about durians, it's never a good idea to disturb someone when there’s a long line of people queuing for durians, and he’s stressed and armed with a knife. So check out the to-do list of different durian flavours!

Did You Know?

Ever wondered if durians are only available during “Durian Season”? What about the rest of the year? Well, you are about to find out.

The “Durian Season” is usually between June to September. Singapore sourced most of the durian supply from her neighbour, Malaysia. Apparently, different types of durians have different seasons throughout the year, they are known as the “Minor Season”. However, most durian lovers only purchase during “Durian Season” because of the significant drop in prices due to the increase in durian supply. Hence, the most experienced durian enthusiast would patiently wait for the peak of the “Durian Season” to get the “best deal” and perhaps even host “Durian Parties” with their loved ones.

Now you know their secret, if you are craving for some durians, head over to Top Durian Station to get yourself some creamy goodness.
